Ink Studies

Here are a couple of my pen and ink drawings I did last year. The general theme within these pieces involves ' Annoying Aspects of the Underground'. This was quite a fun project and I eel as though I have used line well within these drawings.  These sketchpad pages display a couple of illustrations stuck in the corners, which was just some newspaper cuttings I used as reference material, and is not work I have done.

Escaping the Page

This was a piece that I created in 5 hours. It wanted to animated a 2D character entering a 3D world. I tackled this by drawing the animation in 2d and then i cut around the figure on each of the 50 frames, making sure that he was still attached at his contact point. I then folded the cut out section upright so that it popped out of the page. I chose to film it in this way so that you can see how my method of capturing the animation. I really love the concept for this piece and am currently developing a concept for a longer short.WATCH THIS SPACE!
